Building Business Value & Credibility Through PR
Meet Jeffrey Julin, National PRSA Chair & CEO
The public relations profession has changed dramatically. New and social media are changing the ground rules and redefining best practices. Lines between communications sectors are blurring, but the new environment demands the value proposition owned by public relations. The result has been tremendous growth in reputation and demand for our profession. To sustain the momentum, however, public relations professionals must continue to dominate the marketing communications space with renewed focus and expertise in new media and Web 2.0 technologies.
In a visit to Reno later this month, Jeffrey Julin, PRSA National Chair and CEO, will examine these opportunity-rich trends and the degree to which public relations professionals are succeeding in staking our claim in the new environment. What social media strategies and techniques do we "own" and where have we fallen short? How can we ensure continued business growth and a lead position in integrated marketing communications? How do we explain the varying impact of a weakening economy on business results? And, how do we turn our expanding role into a consistently positive public image?
Plan to attend the next PRSA Sierra Nevada Chapter luncheon on Wednesday, August 27. The luncheon is open to the public and will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Harrah's Reno.
"Today's ever-changing business and technology environments present many challenges and opportunities for the public relations profession. Reputation is as important today as it has ever been," said Don Butterfield, APR, President of the PRSA Sierra Nevada Chapter. "Jeffrey Julin is a powerful advocate for our dynamic profession and has taken a stand on many national issues. We are honored to have him as our special guest speaker."
